DOPs Road Map

The current DOPs release is 1.0 alpha. This page describes the DOPs framework's road map, as planned for the near future. Note that the following tasks are not necessarily carried out in a sequential order.

• Towards DOPs 1.0 final: Only bug fixes and minor feature additions (with regard to adding validators and formatters to metadata fields and finalize the relations definition and management) will be made to the DOPs Core, which will eventually lead to the 1.0 beta and 1.0 final versions. DOPs version 2.0 will support inheritance.

• Add more modules. An image stream converter module will be released in the near future. Feel free to contribute to the DOPs modules, especially in providing DOStorage implementations for the digital object store / source / repository of your choice.

• Provide a page and a procedure to the community to collaborate on generating and publishing XML DOP definitions.

• DOPs Modules will be moved to sourceforge.
